"Why Me"

You know how life is rolling along smooth as silk and then BAM! you get nailed by something as delicious as Chinese food?

Yes, a delicate piece of shrimp which normally I would have enjoyed and devoured was my downfall.
Here's the story:

After work, I decided I didn't want to go home and spend an hour in the kitchen cooking dinner. Chinese food sounded oh so good. So off Hub and I went to our local Chinese restaurant.
I popped a piece of shrimp (tail and all) in my mouth, began chewing and then something was suddenly wrong in the world. I don't know what happened but I felt pain dart around my tooth.
We all know how much fun that is.

What immediately went through my head was my crown became loose. Well, it turns out that I cracked a molar; actually, I think I broke it.

Yeah for me! (sarcasm)

When I do it I really do it. (more sarcasm).

So far this evening I have been very careful about EVERYTHING regarding my mouth. I have not yet drank anything for fear of the pain which could erupt. As I said I am being ever so diligent.
I jumped online, found the name and number to my favorite dentist, Dr. Paul, but haven't seen him specifically in years - not on the insurance plan. As I'm now paying that little extra $$ each pay period, I can now see the doctor of my choice. (Note: I really do like this guy, best dentist I ever been to.) The only problem is I cannot locate my dental insurance card, nor my medical insurance card for that matter.

Crap, crap, crap, crap.

The really sad thing is that I don't even remember what insurance I have. I've already berrated myself more than you can imagine.

Luckily I'm not in any unbearable pain - YET. I can hardly wait for tomorrow morning.

So, I will have to see our HR Benefits gal at work and have her give me the information so that I can hopefully make an ASAP appointment with Dr. Paul. Due to a morning meeting that REQUIRES my attendance, the earliest I will be available is 12 noon.

So, in short the "Why Me" wail is for:

  • Cracking/breaking my tooth
  • Unable to locate my insurance card
  • Not knowing what insurance I have

I'M SUCH A DOOFUS!!!!!

I never remember what insurance we have either. I always have to find my card, and then I'm praying it's the newest one and not the old one that for some reason I've decided not to throw away!

I hope you feel better and get it looked at quickly.
