In my last post, I was on my way into Dallas to a camera shop to pick up a backdrop I needed for an upcoming photo shoot. Here the story continues...
Hub and I walked out to the my car and noticed that the wind had REALLY picked up. Earlier I had found roofing shingles laying between our house and our neighbor's. I was worried that the shingles belong to us and that we would soon have a naked roof. Good and bad news - the good news is that the shingles weren't ours, they belonged to our neighbors; bad news was that a couple of shingles hit Hub's truck and left some scratches and tar markings. Hub wasn't upset or anything, after all it was an accident and Neighbor Guy (Neigh) said he would take care of it.
We then noticed the fence adjacent to the driveway had pull loose from a couple of posts, so we Jerry-rigged it with bungee cords just till we finish our errands. Yup, the winds were that strong.
We are now on the road heading into Dallas, the sky was beginning to turn a beige, dusty color and the wind was howling. Ooh, what fun to drive in! Taking our exit, we run into two street lights which weren't working - more fun. Traffic was terrible, dirt was blowing and there was all kinds of flying debris, all I wanted is to get my backdrop and go home. Upon reaching our destination, I'm about to pull into a parking space when Hub reads a sign on the door - Closed No Power. Crap!!
So we're on our way back home and the sky is even worse. I don't like driving in high winds, I'm hungry, and I don't have a backdrop for Tuesday. I spy a Jason's Deli, we stop, have lunch and wait for the winds to settle. After eating, my disposition is much better and we head off to Sprouts to do some veggie shopping. Well, we get there and they too are without power. That's it, I am going home! Being out in the dust and wind made me feel gross, I feel the need to shower, again.
Until next time...
